Gas Nitriding
Gas Nitriding
Extremely Hard, Low-Distortion Wear Resistant Surfaces
Gas nitriding is a thermochemical case hardening process in which nitrogen is diffused into the surface of alloy steels at sub-critical temperatures (500°C - 550°C). Because it requires no subsequent quench, distortion is almost negligible.
Key Specifications
High Hardness, Anti-Galling & Superior Corrosion Resistance
Nitrided surfaces provide exceptional resistance to sliding abrasion, adhesive wear, and galling, making it ideal for finished precision parts that cannot undergo post-heat-treatment grinding.
Typical Applications & Tooling
Widely used across plastics machinery, stamping dies, and precision motion control.
Extrusion Screws & Barrels
Plastic processing feedscrews, extrusion dies, and cylinder liners.
Die Casting & Forging Dies
Aluminum pressure die-cast cores, ejector pins, and forging inserts.
Crankshafts & Camshafts
High-speed racing crankshafts, camshafts, and hydraulic pump pistons.
Valves & Valve Stems
Power plant control valves, gate valves, and automotive engine valves.
Compound Layer & Microhardness Testing
Every batch undergoes Vickers micro-hardness verification (HV0.1 to HV1.0) and metallographic micro-audit to ensure specified case depth (Nht) and optimal white-layer thickness.
